Indian Coast Guard Ministry of Defence has published a recruitment notification for inviting candidates for filling posts of Navik (General Duty) for 10+2 Entry-02/2014 batch in the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union. Eligibility Criteria for Navik (General Duty) posts :
Age : The applicants must have obtained age between 18 to 22 years old for being eligible. Age relaxations are provided as per rules of Govt.
Educational qualification required : The applicants must have done 12th class from a recognized university with scoring a minimum of 60% marks for being eligible and must have Maths and Physics as subject having 60% marks for being eligible.
What will be the selection process : Based on written Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Fitness in Medical Examination.
Selection Process: WRITTEN TEST & PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST
The Online Applications will be sorted out center wise (Based on Percentage of Marks). The conduct of Written test is planned during March / April 2014. Date, time and venue of the recruitment will be intimated through personal email ID in the month of Feb/ Mar 2014.
Written Test -> The written tests will be of objective type, which will generally cover subjects such as Maths, Physics, basic Chemistry, knowledge of English up to 12th standard, general knowledge, current affairs, quantitative aptitude and reasoning.
Physical Fitness Test -> The Test will be conducted for all those who qualify the written tests. The PFT will consist as 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes; 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) & 10 Push ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
Medical Standards:
(a) Height -> Minimum height 157 cms. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. orders.
(b) Chest -> Should be well proportioned. Minimum expansion 5 cms.
(c) Weight -> Proportionate to height and age H^10% acceptable.
(d) Hearing -> Normal.
(e) Medical examination will be conducted by authorized military doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to Enrolled Personnel on entry.
(f) Visual Standards -> 6/6 (Better Eye) and 6/9(Worse Eye) (Candidates using glasses are not eligible)
Salary offered : The selected candidates will be given Rs. 5200 -20,200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 2000/-.
